Priscilla Cunningham is a painter from Russellville, AL, but has made Memphis home since 1989. “Fairy Dancing,” painted in 2011, was inspired by a group of bronze sculptures in the front of an old Arkansas hotel. “I am still very much searching for my identity as an artist, and I truly feel that much of the fun is in the hunt. I don’t know exactly what medium of expression I will be using in 10 years — God permitting — but I know that I will still be experimenting and loving all of it.” Cunningham’s art is showing at Playhouse on the Square from Sep. 18 until Nov. 1 and she is a featured artist at Market Central. priscillacunningham.com.
